Our Barsanti scientists explored chemistry by studying matter and how different substances interact, combine, and change to form new substances. At a molecular level, when you make slime, the protein molecules of the glue and borate ions in the activator crosslink forming the new substance we know as slime.

They also used their favorite candy, Skittles, to explore concentration gradient- that is, that chemicals move from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration to equalize; dissolving, absorption, and color mixing.
