Spirit Week Wraps Up Month of the Military Child with Creativity and Pride
Barsanti Elementary School concluded its Month of the Military Child (MOMC) celebrations with Spirit Week, giving students the opportunity to express pride, creativity, and appreciation through themed dress-up days.
Each day of the week highlighted a different theme, encouraging students to reflect on the strength and stories of military-connected children while having fun with their classmates.
The week kicked off with “Brave Like a Soldier,” where students wore camouflage to honor the courage and dedication of military service members. Hallways were filled with shades of green and brown as students proudly showed their support.
Next, students embraced imagination during “The Hero in My Story,” dressing as superheroes. From capes to masks, the day celebrated the idea that heroes come in many forms—including the military children themselves.
“Dream Big Day” was inspiring as students dressed as their future careers. Classrooms featured everything from aspiring doctors and teachers to soldiers and first responders, highlighting the dreams and ambitions of Barsanti students.
The week concluded with “The Purple Chapter,” where students and staff wore purple, the official color of the Month of the Military Child. The sea of purple served as a powerful visual reminder of unity and support for military families.
Spirit Week reinforced the school’s commitment to recognizing and uplifting military-connected students. By blending fun with meaningful themes, the celebration helped students connect with one another while honoring the unique experiences of their peers.
As April came to a close, Barsanti Elementary ended the Month of the Military Child with a strong message: every story matters, every dream is valued, and every military-connected child is supported.
